International conference on Ashura Movement in the thoughts of Imam Khomeini was held in his holy shrine with the attendance of thinkers from around the globe.
Some 14 figures and thinkers from different countries attended the conference on Monday, 1 June 2020, physically and virtually.
The Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs said that this era should be called the era of Imam Khomeini because there are signs of people being awakened in the face of world powers all over the world.
Speaking at the International Conference on Ashura Movement and Its Impressions in the thought of Imam Khomeini, H.I. Abdolfattah Navvab said, "This era should be called the era of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, because all over the world we see that nations have awakened, gained courage and confidence in the face of the world powers, and spiritual and divine values have spread among the people."
"Imam Khomeini has always emphasized the continuation of the path of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), the third Shia imam, and the school of Ashura," he said.
Hujjat al-Islam Navvab continued, "Similar to Imam Hussein (pbuh), Imam Khomeini exposed the cruelty of the oppressors and enlightened the people in this regard."
