Appreciating the Cultured Ladies of the Monotheistic Religions at the Goharshad World Award.

the third period of the Goharshad World Award, with the presence of Ali Sarvari Majd, Secretary of the Goharshad World Award Leyli Roknabadi, member of the Goharshad World Award’s judgment committee and the Director General of Women and Social Affairs of the household of the Apostle of God (S.A.W.) World Assembly was held in the Malek Library and Museum.


Sarvari Majd, with the announcement of appreciating 8 international and domestic philanthropist ladies in the new period, which will be held on Wednesday, July 18th, at the Astan Quds Razavi Quds Hall, said, “The Goharshad World Award is held in line with the implementation of paragraph 4 of the decree of the Supreme Leader on the promotion of the teachings of the Qur’an and the Infallible Imams (A.S.) for the purpose of promoting cultural-based charity.”
The Secretary of the Goharshad World Award, referring to two criteria for choosing ladies, centered on “cultivation” and “philanthropy,” stated, “The purpose of this award is to honor the philanthropist and cultured ladies around the world in the name of Imam Reza (A.S.), which, of course, is remembered by the name of one of his servants, Lady Goharshad, and this year, the award will be bestowed to eight philanthropist ladies, who had remarkable deeds domestically and abroad.”
Highlighting the fact that in the past two years, 16 ladies have been selected, he expressed, “The conference aims to say that a cultured lady, while performing her duties within the family can play a very active social role in the community. Sacrifice and martyrdom, resistance and Islamic awakening, the scientific, educational and research fields, efforts in the cultural and media fields, endowment, civil affairs, medicine, management and entrepreneurship are eight elements in the territory of philanthropy and cultivation.”
“The selection process is conducted by the evaluation of 17 domestic and foreign judges in the selection committee, which consists of four experts in specialized fields, representatives of specialized committees and chairman of the Women’s Cultural Social Council in the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution,” he articulated.
The Secretary of the Goharshad Award, referring to the process of choosing elected women said, “The chosen of this award is recognized through the registration of volunteers and the recommendation of international organizations, domestic and foreign cultural and social institutions, and the call for the introduction of generous and philanthropist ladies at the site goharshad.aqr.ir in five different languages: Persian, English, Azeri, Urdu, Russian and Arabic.”
“Review the life and activities of Lady Goharshad, recognition of the cultural and civilizing effects of Lady Goharshad’s actions in the history of Islam and the region, recognition of the cultural and civilian effects of women in the history of Islam and the region, criticizing the West’s approach to women, the status of women in Islam, the explanation of Razavi’s culture on the issue of women and the family with an emphasis on maternal status and media trendsetting on the status of women in Islam will be investigated in this conference,” he stated, pointing out that the scientific conference “Razavi Culture and Lady Goharshad” was held in the last May.
“This award is not limited to Shia or Muslim women, yet all the cultured and philanthropist women of the monotheistic religions can attend the conference. We are also trying to provide a forum for introducing them and transferring their experience in the international arena through the networking of these ladies in the third period,” Sarvari Majd asserted.
Referring to the publication of the book “Documents of the Goharshad Mosque” on the occasion of the third Goharshad World Award, he continued, “This conference will be held on Wednesday, May 17th, at 10 a.m. in the Quds Hall of Razavi Holy Shrine, in which eight ladies will be appreciated. Also, on Tuesday, July 16th, at 17:30, the Lady Goharshad poetry night will be held at Razavi Shrine.”
 Leyli Roknabadi, member of the Goharshad World Award judgment committee, presented a report on the selection process of the chosen ladies and said, “Four internationally active ladies from the UK, Thailand, Tanzania and Nigeria will also be cherished in this conference.”
