The director of Studies and Planning of Center for International Affairs mentioned pilgrims of Imam Reza (A.S.) as one of the cultural capacities, saying, “Among foreign pilgrims who visit the Shrine for the pilgrimage of Imam Reza (A.S.) from different countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Lebanon, Syria, Indonesia, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Tatarstan, Russia and Turkey, the deprivation of Pakistani pilgrims is more apparent.”
Hujjat al-Islam Malakutitabar, stating that Pakistani pilgrims are suffering a lot of difficulties during their trip to Mashhad said, “This group of Imam Reza’s (A.S.) pilgrims used to go to Quetta, Pakistan to come to Iran and there they should reach their number to 200 people in order to receive seven buses.”
“Buses from the Quetta of Pakistan on land and secured with armed escorts could go to the Mirjaveh of Iran. The route was exposed to many perils and there were explosions and terrors and many Pakistani Shi’ites were martyred in this route,” he added.
“The authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and in particular the Grand Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi issued a special order to assist Pakistani pilgrims and all Razavi servants, as far as they can, should solve their problems,” he pointed out.
He spoke about the Pakistani pilgrims’ special services headquarters and expressed, “The headquarters was established at the governorate’s premises and Astan Quds Razavi in collaboration with the Governorate of Khorasan Razavi, and also the Governorate of Sistan and Baluchestan and related institutions to facilitate the pilgrimage of this group of Razavi pilgrims wherein the arrangements are taking shape.”
“In accordance with the order of the Grand Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, over the course of the year, up to 800 Pakistani pilgrims will be served with three hot meals at Astan Quds Razavi’s Guest House on a daily basis,” Hujjat al-Islam Malakutitbar said, highlighting the services of Astan Quds Razavi to Pakistani pilgrims.
“Facilities at the entrance to Mirjaveh including accommodation and food are foreseen for Pakistani pilgrims to their advantage as long as they are settled there and when they move to Mashhad so as to benefit from the services of the Astan Quds Razavi,” he articulated.
“Visa extension constitutes another problem, which is faced by this group of pilgrims of the Eighth Imam (A.S.). With the intention of solving this problem, correspondence with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been conducted to extend the visa for Pakistani pilgrims free of charge” the director of Studies and Planning of Center for International Affairs of Astan Quds Razavi remarked.
