Fifty modern wall clocks decorate the shrine's walls of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas(PBUH).

The technical staffs working in the Engineering Projects Division and the Communications Division in collaboration with the Engineering Maintenance Department, installed fifty mural clocks (25 clocks of a single side, and 25 two-sided clocks) with attractive artistic designs that are harmonious with engravings of the holy shrine of Aba al Fadl al-Abbas(PBUH) on the one hand and with the main clock at the top of the Qibla gate of the holy shrine al-Tahir on the other.

These clocks were needed by both the visitors and the staff, as they constantly needed to know the time and the old clocks were previously distributed randomly and different sizes that do not meet the purpose.

the new clocks were distributed regularly, according to each clock type, in the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), the gates of the holy shrine, the basements of the expansion of the holy sanctuary, the events' hall of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) and the host restaurant of the Holy Shrine, as well as the outer expansion building on the side of the depositories.

These clocks are characterized by many features, including:

1- These clocks were made specifically by the German company Perrot, a company with a distinguished reputation in the production of distinguished clocks, which is the same manufacturer of the big clock in the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), in addition to the big clock in the holy Masjid in Makkah.

2- The central time server, as well as the small internal components of the clock are the production of the Swiss company MobaTime, in addition to the server for watch management, which is also programmed by the Swiss company.

3 - They are characterized by elegance and beauty in the design that is similar to the hour of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine but in a smaller scale.

4- All clocked are connected to one time with the main clock of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.

5 - They are designed with clear numbers that can be read from afar.

6 - Each clock is equipped with internal lighting that can be controlled remotely to enable the visitor to see clearly.

7- All clocks are connected to the global satellite time system through satellite.

The head of the Communication Division in the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Engineer Firas Hamza, spoke to us about the mechanism of linking these clocks: "All these clocks are connected to a wide IP network built by the staff of the Communications Division of the Engineering Projects Department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and connected to the Central Time Server, which in turn is connected to the satellite network operating in the global geographic system (GPS) as a major source of the world time, and can be linked with the international Internet as a source of secondary timing."

He added: "The computer network and its clocks can be managed by an additional clock management server for the programming and monitoring of clocks and the organization of internal lighting, and both mentioned servers are located in the data center of the Division of Communications."
