The installation of the first new gold tiles in the Taremah of the sanctuary of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas(PBUH).

The technical and engineering staffs started installing the first pieces and gold tiles on the wall of the outer Taremah within the project that includes the reinforcement and gilding of the walls of the Great Gold Iwan or known as Taremah, which will include the main door leading to the Holy Sanctuary, facing the Qibla Gate of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas, after the completion of its first phase.

The head of the engineering projects Department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Eng. Diaa Majeed Al-Sa'egh, briefed us on these works, saying: "We started with the second phase of the project of gilding the front Taremah of the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), after the completion of the first phase in which we treated and maintained the old walls and then removed old tiles and their debris and cleaning and preparing the wall. "

He added: "After that we started the treatment of the whole wall, which was executed in modern ways using the insulating materials that are moisture proof in five consecutive layers concluded with a layer of carbon fiber, which gives durability and long life to this wall, which we maintained and rehabilitated and then isolated from moisture, then we cover it with two layers of BRC and reinforcing steel, to be ready after all this for the work of covering it with gold tiles."

Al-Sa'egh said: "The works are continuing and the installation of the golden tiles for the arch of the Iwan has been completed. In parallel with these works there are other works, which are the manufacture of the golden tiles according to the measurements, inscriptions, decorations and Quranic stripes that were taken in advance. This work is designed and executed by the Gilding Division in the Engineering projects Department, using the hammering technique on deer skin."

This phase will be complementary to the stage that preceded covering the Taremah pillars, and will increase the aesthetic aspect of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and the continuous preservation and the maintenance of the building, while preserving its architectural and heritage aspect with a strong and efficient urban design according the approved technical and engineering schemes.
