The holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (PBUT) hold a council in memory of the late leader Sheikh Karim al-Khaqani.

The two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) held on May 11, 2018, a commemorative council for the late Sheikh Karim Abdul-Hussein Al-Khaqani, the leader of the formation of Imam Ali (PBUH) Recalling the heroic positions of the commander during the battles of liberation that the formation has undertook under his leadership.


The Council witnessed the presence of the senior official of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Sayed Ahmad Al-Safi and a number of its officials and administrators, in addition to the secretary general of the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him); Ja'far Al-Moussawi, and a group of the fans of the late leader, as well as representatives of the al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad, the brigade of Ali al-Akbar (peace be upon him) and formations of the popular mobilization inside and outside Karbala, and Sheikh Taher al-Khaqani, head of the Supreme Committee to support the popular mobilization in the Shiite Waqf office.

It is to mention that the commander of the fighting formation of the Imam Ali (peace be upon him); Sheikh Karim al-Khaqani, commander of the second brigade in the popular mobilization and commander of operations east of Anbar, died during a healing trip abroad, and that he contributed to the leadership of many important and quality operations to liberate the cities from the terrorist ISIL gangs. He also took part in the process of regaining federal control of the disputed areas.
