Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi, at the closing ceremony of the “International Congress of Shia's Role in the Formation and Expansion of Islamic Sciences” stating that Imam Baqir (A.S.) and Imam Sadiq (A.S.) had the greatest role in Islamic history in explaining the Islamic knowledge and the culture of religion, enlightening the public opinion and interpretation of Qur’anic verses pointed out, “Thanks to Islamic Revolution, in recent years many good works have been done in relation to the intellectual sciences, the Qur'anic interpretation and Islamic jurisprudence and principles.”
Member of the Expediency Council, recounted the difference between the contemporary era and various centuries of Islamic history as the ruling of jurisprudence in Iran and reminded, “The difference today with the past and eras such as Sahib Javaher and Sheikh Ansari is that jurisprudence has never ruled in any period and all aspects of society were not based on the principles of jurisprudence; however today, the society is governed by the jurisprudence and there are many questions before scholars, academics and seminarians which must be answered using civilizing Jafari jurisprudence.”
Divine Planning in Two Great Migrations of Islamic History
Emphasizing that the seminaries and universities should take more and more steps in relation to the new jurisprudential issues he stated, “The migration of the Prophet of Islam (S.A.W.) from Mecca to Medina and the migration of Imam Reza (A.S.) from Medina to Merv, was a divine planning and engineering, intended to realize the Islamic civilization, as if the Islamic civilization is to be based on the prophetic and Razavi teachings in the world.”
“The civilization that was formed in the blessed name of Imam Reza (A.S.) in this region is very significant. The formation of a network of representatives in the Muslim world, the creation of a vast organization of the lovers of the Infallible Imams (A.S.), educating 318 prominent students each of whom is an influential scholar in the history of Islam, and answering 15,000 jurisprudential and religious questions, which today has turned into a valued treasury for the Islamic sciences indicate the blessings of Imam Reza’s (A.S.) migration to Khorasan” Member of the Assembly of Experts asserted.
“The secondary blessing of Imam Reza's (A.S.) migration to Khorasan is the presence of Imam Descendants, each of them illuminating like a star in this region and became the source of many blessings for Islamic sciences” Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Raeisi said.
“Today, from jurisprudence to astronomy and from wisdom to mathematics, we owe the great knowledge and character of Imam Reza (A.S.) as the learned of the Prophet’s Household (S.A.W.) so that even his opponents called him the heir to Prophets’ knowledge.
Imam Reza (A.S.) Was Patient in Listening Others
He described the role of Imam Reza (A.S.) in three sections of science, culture and civilization noteworthy and stated, “Patience in listening to the words of others and having the knowledge along patience are among the characteristics of the knowledgeable personality of Imam Reza (A.S.)”
“Having patience in debates with the opposition and a precise explanation of the monotheistic and guardianship thoughts of Islam are other traits of Imam Reza (A.S.)” Member of the Expediency Council added.
“Sheikh Tabarsi, Hor-e-Ameli, Sheikh Tusi and Sheikh Baha'i are influential scholars in the Islamic world, who learned the knowledge of Imam Reza (A.S.), and played a large role in the development of Islamic sciences in the Muslim world” he expressed.
Western Scientific Civilization Owes Islamic Civilization
Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Raeisi, arguing that today the hegemony do not want Muslims to grow and advance in science and knowledge pointed out, “It is an undeniable fact that the Western civilization is founded on the works of Islamic civilization.”
“The agenda of the hegemony is that Muslims will stay retrograded and not progress and they pursue this policy through their assigned rulers in the region. Today, the advancement of science, knowledge and technology among Muslims is critical and crucial to which the Muslim nation must pay attention” he remarked.
Pointing out that the Supreme Leader has always encouraged the intellectuals and scholars of the Islamic world in relation to the development and excellence of various sciences he expressed, “Paying attention to the progress of science and considering it worthy promises a bright and prosperous future for the Islamic society in the direction of the emergence of modern Islamic civilization, which can be implemented by the capable hands of the scholars of the Islamic world.”
