Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi, meeting with the players and technical staff of the Iranian national football team of adolescents, mentioned the pursuit of sports championships to require striving, self-confidence, strong will and timeliness for timely use of talents and capacities and pointed out, “The power and vigor of human is limited; with the help and resorting to the Lord, connect this limited power to divine power.”
Member of the Expediency Council considered the presence in international sports and international competitions very important and worthwhile adding, “However, more important than participation in these competitions is a powerful and authoritative presence.”
“Never allow your failures to disappoint you and make you stop trying” he added “in any circumstances, keep your hope in the God Almighty and work diligently to succeed.”
Emphasizing that the key to success is hard work, effort, seriousness in work, adherence to the goal, self-confidence by resorting to the Lord and timely use of capacity he asserted, “My advice to you young people is to always keep your movement and dynamism and do not let your breakdowns end in disappointment, frustration and despair.”
He portrayed the highest honor for an athlete, an attempt to raise the holy flag of Iran in the global arena and stated, “The raising of the proud flag of Iran in the sports fields is a manifestation of the capabilities of a nation and strengthens national pride and happiness.”
“Iranian athletes in the world championships are soldiers of the country for pride and dignity” Grand Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi said.
“Fighting, courage, chivalry, ardor, zealousness and faith are characteristics of an Iranian athlete who represents the rich culture of the Iranian people in the global arena” he expressed.
Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Raeisi, saying that athletes in international competitions are representatives of the personality, culture, ethics and faith of the Iranian people stated, “You are different from all the teenage athletes of the world, because you love Imam Reza (A.S.) and the Infallible Imams (A.S.) and you are the representatives of a country with martyrs. Your triumphs give tears of joy to the faces of martyr’s mothers and your victories bring joy to many Muslims and the oppressed of the world in all parts of the world.”
Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Raeisi, in the end, advised national football players of the country as though, “Strengthen your relationship with Imam Reza (A.S.) as a present Imam and seek this compassionate Imam for success and pride”.
