Martyrdom anniversary commemoration of Imam El-Kadhim (PBUH).

On the occasion of the martyrdom of Imam El-Kadhim (Peace Be Upon Him), the Secretariat-General of Imam El-Kadhim Shrine – Baghdad – has completed the preparations for receiving millions of Muslims flocking into the shrine to commemorate such an anniversary tragedy.


Officials from the Shia Endowment Bureau, and secretaries-general and representatives from Imam Ali Shrine, Imam Hussein Shrine, El-Abbas Shrine, in addition to tribal chiefs and notable people took part in this pilgrimage.

 

The 25th of Rajab month, in the Islamic calendar, marks the martyrdom Imam El-Kadhim, son of Imam Ja’fer Es-Sadiq, (peace Be Upon Him) who Haroon the Abbasside kept in Jail for many years and then poisoned in 183 A.H.

 

The Secretary-General of Imam El-Kadhim Shrine Jamal Ed-Debbagh delivered a speech in which he said: “The reformers adopt various means to reform the society, and each one of them seeks to achieve their method of rendering the society better, but that costs them so much, for each reformer is faced by enemies who struggle to abort the reformer’s reformation; the best example is the corrupt governments who control people and their properties.”

 

He said further: “Today marks the anniversary martyrdom of Imam El-Kadhim (Peace Be Upon Him), which Muslims have been commemorating every single year ever since the Imam was martyred. It is true the tyrants kept the Imam in prison and then killed him, but they can never prevent people’s feelings as to why they adore the Ahlul-Bayet (Peace Be Upon Them).”

 

A stately ceremony was held in which some verses of the Noble Quran were recited, receiving a group of mourners marching into the El-Kadhim Shirne, and a mourning session was held in which traits of Imam El-Kadhim (Peace Be Upon Him) were remembered.
