In a meeting with Iranian vice president and head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Seyyed Ibrahim Raeisi referred to handicrafts and tourism as best grounds for introducing Iranian Islamic culture and stressed, “Sustainable income from this area can decline country’s dependence on oil incomes”.
Member of the expediency council added, “The belief that foreign tourists will affect national and religious culture of Iran cannot be true and it would definitely be vice versa”.
Noting that Iran has got much more tourist attractions than countries with high number of visitors such as Turkey, he reiterated, “Unfortunately, traveling of an Iranian family to the domestic places is sometimes more expensive even than traveling to Turkey”.
Emphasizing that northern parts of Iran is among the best and most beautiful places for tourism, member of the managing board in assembly of experts said, “This beautiful geography is now being destroyed by a group of evil-minded and malevolent persons, unfortunately”.
Grand custodian of Astan Quds Razavi added, “Astan Quds Razavi has allocated a special budget for buying handwritten manuscripts so that the transmission of these important cultural works to abroad is stopped”.
Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Raeisi stated, “Astan Quds Razavi take the opportunity of Razavi pilgrims’’ presence in Mashhad and hold various exhibitions in order to support Iranian producers so that they can be supporters of handicrafts”.
