Al-Kafeel College holds the second scientific conference on displacement and migration.

The Great Hall of the Faculty of Education at Kufa University in Najaf Governorate embraced the Second Scientific Conference on Displacement and Migration, which was organized by the al-Kafeel Jami'a College of the Higher Education and Education Department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, with the participation of the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Kufa.


Under the slogan: (Voluntary return of the displaced: A promotion of health security and community stability) with the large presence of representatives of international humanitarian organizations from inside and outside Iraq, and the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, As well as a high-level delegation representing the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, as well as local and international researchers and academics interested in this field, and representatives of the local government in the province of Najaf.

The conference, which will last for two days, aims at highlighting the level of social services provided to the displaced during the period of displacement, finding service and legal solutions that guarantee the voluntary return of the displaced, and strengthening the partnership between local and international government and non-governmental organizations to provide post-displacement services.

After the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and standing to read Surat Al-Fatihah in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, there was a speech by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Issa, urging the university academic community to intensify solutions and treatments to ensure the return of the displaced to their areas. Adding: "The University professor has the responsibility of activating the culture of citizenship as well as study and contain the psychological and social effects of the displacement and finding solutions through scientific research. And the ministry and its university institutions have undertaken the responsibility to revive the Iraqi reality through scientific research, diagnosis of causes and the activation of the advancement mechanism of the areas that were attacked by ISIL. "

The President of the University of Kufa, Dr. Mohsen al-Dhalemi, said: "The University will provide exploratory studies that serve scientific research in order to facilitate the return of the displaced to their regions and work to find the appropriate scientific and practical ground for it."

This was followed by a speech by the dean of the al-Kafeel Jami'a College, Nawras Mohamad Shahid al-Dahan said: "One of the most difficult problems of the life is the loss of a person's home, country and family, becoming a refugee. And today, the world is witnessing many refugees, including Iraq, who are deprived from their most basic rights to education and health, specifically children and women. And what happened in some areas of Iraq after the year 2014 by the terrorist gangs of ISIL led to mass exodus of citizens, and their number reached more than 3 million and more than 350 thousand refugees outside Iraq."

"Today, after the liberation of the territory of Iraq from the clutches of terrorist gangs of ISIL, the work of the return of Iraqi refugees and displaced persons to their areas of residence, has started and every effort must be exerted for this aim, by the establishment of all the elements, the provision of protection and security for them, improve their living and life conditions and develop their means of education as well as the rest of the requirements for a decent living for them, and this will encourage them to participate in the construction and development of this country. "

Stressing that: "In implementation of the directives of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and its vision in the service of the Iraqi people and in order to implement the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in enhancing cooperation between the ministry of Education and the implementation of the productive university, we held this conference in cooperation with the Faculty of Nursing, to contribute through the participating research to find solutions to the problem of displacement, to identify the health problems and challenges faced by the displaced, to seek to establish solutions and health plans to address them, and to assess the humanitarian and social situation of the displaced and the role of governmental and community organizations in promoting Human development and morale of displaced families ".

Dr. Nawras concluded: "The number of researches participating in this conference is 70 research from Britain, USA, Mauritius, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iran, Syria and Australia as well as researchers from the ministries of state and Iraqi universities."

After that, the opening session of the conference, which was preceded by honoring the parties that contributed to this conference, opened.
