The participation was effective through several activities through which the delegation of the library managed to convey the message of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in this field, showing that these holy places are not only for prayer, worship, performing rituals and rites, although this aspect is one of its most important priorities, but it has become a beacon and source of science and knowledge in many fields including the revival of the heritage and Islamic manuscripts, in which it has gone a long way and made remarkable progress based on solid scientific and specialized grounds.
Mr. Salah Mahdi Abdul Wahab Al-Sarraj, Director of the Center for Imaging and Indexing of Manuscripts in the Library and House of Manuscripts of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, and one of the participants in the conference, has explained to al-Kafeel Network. "The conference, which is hosted by the Institute of Arabic Manuscripts in Cairo, and organized by the mentioned institute, the manuscripts' Center at the Suez Canal University and the Center for the Revival of the Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad, is one of the important international conferences, and based on the invitation sent to us we have participated in its event as one of the windows through which the library of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine can inform its outer surroundings about its abundant knowledge treasures whether on the research level through its participation with a number of research or through its treasures of manuscripts and publications on Islamic heritage, through participating in an exhibition held on the sidelines of the conference."
He added: "On the research side, we participated by eight researches of researchers from the library after the selection of their research to be presented in the conference, out of the 120 research selected by the scientific committee of the conference, thanks to their sobriety and abundant information that enriched the audience and its relevance to the themes of the conference, Our research participations were as follows:
The first: the research of Mr. Qutaiba Aziz Hassan was entitled: (Islamic decoration and its impact on European decoration).
Second: The research of Mr. Mahdi Abdul Wahab was entitled: (Center for imaging and indexation of manuscripts at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and its role in preserving the manuscript heritage).
Third: Research of Mr. Ali Taleb and Mr. Samer Bassem, entitled: (Indexing of Arabic manuscripts according to the criterion of Marc21. Index of Manuscripts Library and House of manuscripts of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine as a model).
Fourth: The research of Mr. Ali Habib, entitled: (the Egyptian heritage that is not proven saved in the library of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine - explaining Kafiyat Ibn al-Hajib of Jalaluddin al-Halwa'i the Egyptian as a model).
Fifth: The research of Hassan Jafar Abdul Hassan, entitled (History of the Iraqi heritage in the building of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine / Dome and minarets as a model)
Sixth: Research entitled "Iraqi heritage studies and its impact on the use of modern mechanisms and systems in cataloging manuscripts / center of imaging and indexing of manuscripts in the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine as a model." presented by Mr. Mustafa Mohamad Ali.
Seventh: Research entitled "the Egyptian linear heritage at the library of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine presented by Mr. Mustafa Tareq Abd al-Ameer.
Eighth: Research entitled (New techniques in archiving electronic documents / Al-Joud program of electronic archiving as a model) presented by Mr. Mohamad al-Baqer Mowaffaq.
Al-Sarraj explained: "The researches that have been presented had attracted the audience's appreciation thanks to the modernity of the subject, the method of presentation, the objectivity, focusing on one axis and the accuracy of information selected from well-known sources."
He added: "As part of our participation in the conference, we held an exhibition of the treasures of manuscripts, documents and a collection of books which are the publications of the holy shrine. The exhibition highlighted a bright picture of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and its great role in reviving the heritage."
