The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine concludes its Scientific Seminars on the Role of Libraries in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of 2030.

On February 16, 2018, the Hall of Imam al-Hassan (PBUH) for conferences and seminars at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, embraced the closing session of the seminar held by the Center of Indexing and Information Systems of the Library and House of Manuscripts of the holy shrine in the presence of researchers and specialists in this field from inside and outside Iraq.


In the second day, a research seminar led by Dr. Jassim Jarjis of the American University of the UAE was held including three research:

- A research paper entitled: Towards a Future Strategic Vision for Sustainable Development for the Rehabilitation of Information Science and Libraries in Iraq, by Dr. Kholoud Ali Oreibi / Department of Information and Libraries / Faculty of Arts / Mustansiriya University.

- A research paper entitled: The role of libraries in making the right decisions for sustainable development in Iraq, by Dr. Salman Joudi Daoud from Basra University / Faculty of Arts / Information and Libraries Department.

- A research paper entitled "Iraqi Information Institutions and the Challenges of Sustainable Development: A Future Vision" by Assistant Professor Jafar Hassan Jassem Al-Tai of the University of Diyala / Secretary General of the Central Library.
