The Iraqi minister of water resources praises the modern irrigation techniques used in the farms of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.

Minister of Water Resources Hassan al-Janabi toured the agricultural projects of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and the alternative water project, using modern technologies and dealing with the water scarcity crisis either through drip irrigation, fixed spray irrigation, or axial sprays, whether for vegetable crops or strategic crops such as grain crops, to provide food security in Iraq.

The Minister of Water Resources stressed on the necessity of educating the farmers on this technique, which is applied in the farms of Khairat Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) as well as in the other farms of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine. The Minister has also visited al-Joud Company for Modern Agriculture Technology that produces fertilizers and biomaterials for modern agriculture, as well as the al-Saqi project for the production of alternative water and the production of palm and citrus trees.

"The projects of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine are in fact pioneering experiments, whether by research or using water for agriculture," said Minister Hassan al-Janabi. "What I saw in the farms of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine must be spread and expanded because they use very efficient techniques for the use of water, as well as the high quality of fertilizer produced and used for soil treatment, and I am happy to visit this area and I hope to do what is possible seeking to spread this experience in the country."

He added: "The current situation of water is scarce and must be maintained through the knowledge of these techniques, which we saw in the farms of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and the promotion of modern technologies in the current crisis, and we must adjust our situation with the use of small amounts of water, so we can overcome this scarcity, produce, export and achieve food security, God willing."
