The head of Astan Quds Razavi Treasury of Stamps, Bills and Coins of Astan Quds Razavi said, “The present exhibition is scheduled to commemorate December 25th, the birthday of Jesus Christ (A.S.) and until December 31st in this treasury, welcomes the pilgrims and neighbors of Imam Reza’s (A.S.) Heavenly Court.”
“A collection of stamps and envelopes of the day, which have been printed and published by various countries around the world for this occasion have been kept in this treasury and were displayed at the exhibition”.
“Stamps from countries and islands around the world, such as Iran, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Malawi, Malta, England, Cook Islands, Norfolk Island, Gibraltar, Guyana, Niue Island, Papua New Guinea, Saint Lucia, Enkoyle, Botswana, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Granada, Monaco etc., are on display at this exhibition” he said.
“Among the images and titles of these stamps” Yazdinejad stated “the birth of Jesus Christ (A.S.), the disciples of Jesus (A.S.), the effigy of Holy Mary (S.A.), the feasts of the birth of Jesus (A.S.), the presence of three kings and the shepherds to congratulate the birth of Jesus (A.S.) to holy Mary (S.A.), the effigy of the Holy Prophet Joseph (A.S.) and Jesus (A.S.) could be highlighted.”
“The children’s painting with the theme of the birth of Jesus (A.S.), the painting of famous artists and painters of the world with the same theme, such as Rubens, Durer, Bassano and painting on the glass are among other pictures in this stamp collection” he added.
Stating that more than 850,000 stamps from about 240 countries and the former colonies of the world are kept in the treasury Yazdinejad said, “The treasury for various occasions, such as the commemoration of prominent national and religious figures, as well as cultural and artistic events, presents its exquisite and valuable works to the public.”
He noted that lovers of history and culture can visit the exquisite and various works of stamps, bills and coins located on the floor minus one of the central museum of Astan Quds Razavi at the Kawthar Courtyard of Razavi Holy Shrine every day from 8:00 to 17:45, and on holidays from 8:00 to 12:00.
