The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine commemorates the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet(SA) in al-Qadisiyah University.

Under the patronage of the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine at the University of al-Qadisiya on the birth anniversary of the prophet of humanity Mohammad (AS) a festival added to the series of festivals adopted by the al-'Ameed Center for Research and Studies of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the holy shrine in cooperation with Iraqi universities hosting these cultural festivals.


Al-Qadisiyah University Festival began with a recitation of the verses from the Holy Quran and reading Al-Fatihah in memory of the martyrs of Iraq. Then a documentary film about the birth of the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) was presented.

Followed by the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, delivered by Dr. Adel Nadhir, in which he spoke about the auspicious birth of the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) and reviving it through following the example of the ethics of the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), especially within the academicians who have the duty to make research about the needs of the era, through scientific curricula, the reason for which the al-'Ameed Center for Research and Studies established a department in the name of the House of the Great Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household).

Then Dr. Sarhan Jafat presented the word of the preparatory committee of the Festival, stating: "There is no doubt that the University's openness to the spiritual values represented by the holy shrines contributes to the spiritual and intellectual renaissance of the university students. And the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, represented by Its Senior Official; His Eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi stresses on the openness of the holy shrines, because we believe in the parental and spiritual care of these places, and that organization and spiritual education will benefit our students in universities, as our universities need to grow scientifically, culturally and morally to make our children love the law, the system and the spiritual wealth that qualify those students to be equal to their peers in the advanced universities.

On the sidelines of the festival's program, poems about the love of the Holy Prophet and Ahl al-Bayt (Allah's prayers be upon all of them) were recited, in addition to honoring the students wearing the Islamic Abaya. The ceremony was concluded by honoring the participants in the festival with appreciation certificates.
