The Presence of Shopping Groups from Astan Quds Razavi Library at Two Mashhad Book Exhibits.

The head of the library services of the organization said, “The experts and consultants of the organization, in order to provide the resources needed for Astan Quds Razavi libraries, in the form of various shopping groups have presence at the 19th Mashhad Book Exhibition on the occasion of the commemoration of this sacred city chosen as the cultural capital of the Islamic world in 2017, and the National Book Exhibition of the Holy Defense.”
“Five groups to purchase Persian, Arabic, Latin, visual and audio resources, as well as Holy Defense, took part in line with the richness of the print repository of the central library of Astan Quds Razavi, providing shortages needed for the various halls of the library, as well as responding to patrons’ daily requests, especially the needs of library researchers in these two Mashhad Book Exhibitions” Isa Akhtari Tusi added.
“The purchase of related books with the subject of the specialized libraries of the organization, which has just been published after the provision of the necessary resources of the central library print repository, is in the next priority of these groups” he stated.
“Experts from subsidiary libraries of the deputy of libraries affairs affiliated to the organization also visited the Mashhad Book exhibitions with the aim of purchasing the books needed by the patrons and researchers of their libraries” Akhtari Tusi stressed.
“The purchase experts of the organization’s study resources with utmost carefulness and purposefully, and after searching for and reviewing the resources in the organization's databases, in order to prevent the purchase of duplicate resources, according to the statutes, collection regulation, purchasing policies and the resources’ selection committee, purchase the print and digital resources required”.
“In order to select the resources” director of library services of Astan Quds Razavi added “the opinions of experienced bibliologists, and experts of the organization's book selection committee, the needs of the patrons, the expertise orientation of libraries and the breadth and importance of library environments are considered.”
“The department is working on the resources enrichment of the libraries of the organization by dispatching purchasing groups to various exhibitions in the country and direct participation in publishing markets” he pointed out.
It should be noted that the 8th National Book Exhibition of the Holy Defense Book and the 19th International Book Exhibition in Holy Mashhad, titled Islamic World Publishers book exhibition, with the participation of a number of domestic and foreign publishers from November 30th to December 6th, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., at the permanent site of the International Exhibitions of the holy city, welcomes the book and reading enthusiasts.
