In the presence of the Senior Official of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; His Eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi and the Minister of the Higher Education and Scientific Research; Dr. Abd al-Razzaq al-'Issa, and with the participation of representatives of the local government in the province of Karbala and a number of officials and figures of religious, academic, cultural and media, as well as delegations representing the holy shrines in Iraq.
The ceremony began with a recitation of verses of the Holy Quran and the word of the Secretariat General of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine by its Senior Official His Eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi and then the word of the Minister of the Higher Education and the Scientific Research; Dr. Abd al-Razzaq al-'Issa and the word of the Director of the National University Education Department.
The ceremony includes a documentary film about the establishment of the University, as well as some poems, and then cutting the inauguration ribbon and a tour in the university and its classrooms and laboratories.
It is noteworthy that the al-'Ameed University is an educational scientific institution affiliated to the Education and High Education Body at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, includes three faculties (medicine, dentistry and nursing) and is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, established to be a scientific edifice comparable to the prominent universities, by adopting international standards that qualify it to enter the accredited academic classifications.
