The campaign of cleaning the city from waste to show its streets in an appropriate image, was under the directives of the Senior Official of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, as the departments responsible for these activities started early morning with a large cleaning campaign of the main road between Karbala and Najaf, after completing the cleaning works of the old city and its surrounding streets in a previous time.
The Head of the Service Affairs Department; Haj Khalil al-Hanoon, who oversaw this campaign himself, stated to al-Kafeel Network: "This campaign is complementary to the project launched by the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to clean the holy city of Karbala after the end of the Ziyarat Arba'een, as this campaign started from the Karbala city and will end at the area of Khan al-Nus located between Karbala and Najaf. This campaign will continue for several days with the participation of the servants of the holy shrine and volunteers from Hussayni bodies, with the use of many vehicles and waste trucks."
He added: "the aim of this campaign is to show the city of Karbala in the best way possible and to remove those wastes from the secondary streets and main entrances of the city and we hope to complete this work as soon as possible."
