The head of the Department of Vehicles, Engineer Abd al-Jawad, said that "The issue of transport is one of the most important services needed by the visitors of the holy shrine of Karbala during the Ziyarat Arba'een, and as a result of the increasing number of visitors, we have held a large campaign for maintenance of the vehicles, in preparations for this Ziyarat in accordance with these numbers."
Adding: "Our department will participate in the plan to transport visitors within the main axes of transportation, which is the axis of al-Salam Bridge towards the province of Babylon (parking of Umm al-Hawa, back and forth, as this axis is very crowded."
And indicating:" We have provided more than 150 vehicles of various capacities, including specialized vehicles such as ambulances and tankers. And we will be based on a garage on the same work axis to provide the vehicles with fuel and for their maintenance, and there is a place to rest for the drivers who will be working around the clock. We have also prepared a special vehicle to maintain and fix the vehicles in case of any breakdown during work."
He continued: "Our plan has also been supplemented by 150 additional large trucks belonging to the Ittihad Sugar Factory and 50 other vehicles from the people of al-Hossain village in Hilla as a donation to support for out special plan of transport."
