Ali Asghar was martyred in Karbala on the Day of Ashura some 1400 years ago.
Every year, on the first Friday of the lunar Hijri month of Muharram, Shia mourners in Iran and other countries commemorate the six-month-old son of Imam Hossein (AS).
In the ceremonies mothers along with their babies mourn for Ali Asghar.
This year, prior to the ceremonies, a Doctrine of Global Commemoration for Ali Asghar (AS) has been unveiled during a press conference in Tehran.
Davoud Manafi, the secretary of the event’s organizing committee, said the doctrine, which has been approved by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has been translated into 61 languages.
He added that commemoration ceremonies on Friday will be held in 4000 places in Iran as well as in many other countries, including Iraq, Nigeria, the US, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Russia, Pakistan and Turkey.
They are aimed at promoting the message of the Ashura uprising which was promotion of virtue and prevention of vice and fighting injustice.
