Concurrent with the ending days of Zi al-Hajjah month, the international student conference of “Brotherhood Verses” was held in the vicinity of the Razavi Holy Shrine attended by students from fifteen Muslim countries; on the sidelines of the conference, the “Imam Bāri” documentary was also screened for the first time.
“The documentary deals with the mourning style of Sunni Muslims in Muharram and martyrdom days of Imam Hussein (A.S.)”, said director of the documentary.
Noting that this question arises for many that whether the non-Shi’ite also mourn for Imam Hussein (A.S.), Muhammad Mahdi Khaleqi asserted, “We searched to find the answer to this question and started a documentary called “Hussein (A.S.), beyond the borders”. The first episode of the show was produced in Bangladesh titled as ‘Imam Bāri’.”
“Imam Bāri in the India Peninsula and South Africa means Husseiniyeh and hence we chose the title of the first part of the documentary ‘Imam Bāri’ or Husseiniyeh”, he added.
Noting that Imam Hussein (A.S.) is a universal figure and beside Muslims, disciples of other religions also mourn for his holiness, Khaleqi added, “If Muslims of the world gather under the flag of Imam Hussein (A.s.) and Husseini (A.S.) discourse, then the flag can serve as a significant principle of unification among Islamic religions.”
“I am happy that the ‘Imam Bāri’ documentary for the first time was screened in the vicinity of the Razavi Holy Shrine and for students of Islamic countries”, director of the documentary added.
It is notable that Khaleqi has already produced ‘my son’, ‘the blacksmith’, ‘fighting with Satan’, ‘the reverse pelisse’, and ‘pilgrims’ Reza’ documentaries.
