Alireza Dabir, the Olympic and World Champion, and vice chairman of the National Olympic Committee attending the Razavi Holy Shrine dedicated twelve gold medals, including Olympic, World and Asian medals, and a silver medal to the Astan Quds Museum. The ceremony was held by presence of a number of officials of Astan Quds Razavi and the family of the athlete.
Dabir at the ceremony, stating that he has had the honor of Imam Reza’s (A.S.) servitude for twenty years said, “Since 1998, I received the Imam Reza’s honorable servitude and I am very happy that in the best of my years, I became a servant to His Highness.”
“Due to the grace of Almighty God and Imam Reza (A.S.) I was able to win these medals, and I am happy to donate them to their original home” he said.
“If it was not for the clemency of the Infallible Imams (A.S.), I could not gain these honors, all of my success is owed to the benevolence of Hazrat Reza (A.S.). Before the tournaments, I always said to myself if I got a medal, I would donate it to Astan Quds Razavi. Hence, today I present him all my medals” he stated.
“It is hard to detach from these medals for every athlete. Each one I consider, the hardships that I suffered in each match revive; however, I am sure that they have been trusted to a safe place, and they are protected and maintained with ultimate carefulness” he reiterated.
Deputy of the Management and Support Development of Astan Quds Razavi, also at the ceremony, saying that Astan Quds Razavi is paying much attention to the maintenance and protection of medals and donations from athletes stated, “This legacy which is handed to us is especially valuable, and we try to protect them with ultimate care.”
“The love and passion that athletes show to the guardianship and the Infallible Imams (A.S.) and they resort to it at the start of the tournaments is highly commendable” Alireza Esmailzadeh expressed.
“We need to thank the athletes who dedicated their best medals, which are the fruits of their many years of effort to the Astan Quds Razavi Museum” he uttered.
“Our athletes have flourished the flag of Iranian culture, which is embellished with the name of Allah all over the world and give our country honor and dignity, this is a worthwhile place of appreciation and praise. Astan Quds Razavi makes the utmost endeavor to best protect these honors for next generations” Deputy of the Management and Support Development of Astan Quds Razavi remarked.
It is worth mentioning that Alireza Dabir, at the 58, 63 and 66 kg freestyle wrestling has won many honors for our country for many years. He holds the 2000 Gold Medal of Sydney Olympic games, the Gold medal of 1998 World Championship, three silver medals in the World Championships in 1999, 2001 and 2002 and the Silver Medal of 2002 Busan Asian Games.
