Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi, at the meeting with the defenders of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which was held in the Quds Courtyard of Razavi Holy Shrine celebrating the commemoration of the mosque day, introduced the mosque as the place of human contact with God and aversion to the enemies of God, and pointed out, “The mosques are the houses of God on earth, and the place of worship and servitude of God and the relations between man and creator.”
Board Member of the Assembly of Experts, saying that for the human in the path of God, performing prayers, poor tax and enjoining the good and forbidding the evil, are centered on the mosque issue said, “During the history of Islam, the mosques never had only devotional functions, rather many cultural, social, and revolutionary activities of the Islamic society were centered around mosques in the past and the present; mosques are places for the formation of altruism in the light of God seeking.”
Mosque, the Position of Unity among the Islamic Nation
Member of the Expediency Discernment Council, considered another role and function of the mosque as creating unity and solidarity in the Islamic nation and stated, “The mosque is the center of enlightenment and building insight. The fact that the enemy is scared of the Muslims gathering in the mosque, is due to its nature that builds insight.”
“The mosques are powerful factors in solidarity and the unity of Muslims of the world. They are the centers of education and the base of the movement of the Muslim nation against oppressors. These places are necessary for the unity and integrity of the Islamic nation, the insight building and warning about the enemies of God” Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Raeisi said.
“The mosque is central to the worship, political, cultural, economic, and social areas and also helping the deprived and the needy, and in all of these grounds, the pivotal position of the mosque is completely unique in guiding the Islamic society” he reiterated.
The member of the Assembly of Experts, referring to the important position of the mosques in periods of struggle with the Shah’s ruling and the sacred defense stated, “The importance of the base of the mosque in the structure of the Islamic society is very important, as before the Islamic Revolution, the mosques were the origin of the Political fighting, and in the time of the sacred defense were the place of integrity and organization of country’s defense forces.”
“In the thoughts of Imam Khomeini (R.A.), the founder of the Islamic Republic, the mosques are among the most important centers of fighting for Muslims with hegemony. Therefore, he reminds that ‘the mosque is the trench, so fill the trenches’” Grand Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi stated, highlighting the emphasis of Imam Khomeini and the Supreme Leader of the Revolution about the mosques.
Mosques Should Be Protected as Worshiping and Political Centers
“The mosque in the Muslim community is the base of spiritual, social, and political values. Today, enemy’s strategy requires schism and keeping people away from mosque and the shrines, because the mosque is the center of unity and integrity of the Muslims, and the place of the formation of Islamic coherence” Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Raeisi uttered, emphasizing on the fact that mosques should be protected as religious and political bases.
He considered the mosques as the center of enlightenment and building insight, and stressing that the mosques are the Islamic centers in order to form communities and people's communications, focused on divine remembrance, praying and paying attention to God said, “In history of Islam, the mosques were the center for consultation, cooperation and decision-making over important social, political and military issues, and we should protect this role of the mosques.”
The Holy Quds Is the First Issue of the Muslim World
“From the first days of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (R.A.) said, ‘The Holy Quds is the first issue of the Muslim world’, the enemy tried to take the issue of Al-Aqsa Mosque off the top priority of the Islamic world and in this regard has formed terrorist groups such as al-Qaeda and ISIS to deviate the public opinion from the Palestine issue” Grand Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi said in another part of his speech pointing to the issue of Palestine.
Member of the Expediency Discernment Council, referring to the plots and conspiracies of the arrogant powers to subtract the Palestine’s slogan from the first priority of the Islamic world, said “The issue of Palestine and the liberation of the holy Quds, despite all conspiracies to divert public opinion from the issue, should still be the first priority of the Islamic world, and to date nothing has caused the Palestine slogan to be forgotten from the agenda of the Islamic Republic.”
Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Raeisi, in the end, mentioned defending the Palestine by the hand of the Islamic Republic, unsurpassed in the world and said, “Concerning the Palestine issue, there is no Shi'a and Sunni debate, and for us it means defending the Islam and religion. Are the residents living in Palestine and Gaza Shi’ites? Many of the countries claiming to defend the Quds returned in the middle of the way; however, according to the Imam's and Leadership's emphasis, the holy Quds has been always the first issue of the Islamic Republic.”
