The first phase of the project, with a capacity of 5000 inhabitants was opened by presence of the Grand Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi; Ayatollah Alam al-Hoda, Mashhad’s Congregational Prayer Leader; Rashidian, the Governor of Khorasan Razavi and a group of provincial high-ranking officials.
Razavi Pilgrims City has the maximum capacity of 20,000 pilgrims daily. The first phase of the project has a capacity of 5000 people. This Pilgrims Town is in an area of nearly 35 hectares, of which approximately 220,000 square meters consists of residential and service areas.
About 25% of the land is consisted of indoor facilities and 75% is allocated to open spaces, such as sports fields, green spaces, parking lots and more.
Razavi Pilgrims City buildings consist of two residential and service sectors. Residential buildings occupy about 21% of the total land space and about 4%, as service space.
Some pilgrims travel to Mashhad in family and some in ceremonial religious bodies that we considered a special settlement for each group in this city.
The establishment is constructed in three phases, and in the first phase there are ten hectares, in which 31 blocks have been constructed, 28 blocks in the form of suites and three other blocks will be in the form of a hall for the religious bodies. Also in each residential block, 25 suites in two floors will be built based on hotel standards and facilities. In the Phase I, there are six halls each of which will have a capacity of about 90 people.
Each suite has an area of about 40 meters, with a terrace, a restroom, a small kitchen and bathroom. Blocks for religious bodies are also in two floors, and at the entrances of the hall they have restrooms and public baths.
In front of the blocks, spaces are considered as kitchen; each hall for the religious bodies’ blocks, not including bunk beds and based on single beds, has a capacity of ninety people.
