Deputy Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi: Mashhad Should Become the Scientific Center of the Muslim world.

Seyyed Morteza Bakhtiari, at the conference “Expression of Art and Spirituality in Razavi Conduct, the Commemoration of the Learned of the Prophet’s Household (S.A.W.)” held in the auditorium of the International University of Imam Reza (A.S.) mentioned the role of Imam Reza (A.S.) in the promotion of religious knowledge, and expressed, “Imam Reza (A.S.) has provided valuable services to the human society.”
“The existence of the Holy Grave of this magnanimous Imam has been the source of many blessings for us, and Mashhad can certainly be a scientific center for the Muslim world with this strong backing” he asserted.
“The books and treatises of Imam Reza (A.S.) that we have received by great efforts of a man such as Fazl ibn Shazan, not only met the needs of the Islamic community at the time, but also the satisfy our present needs” Deputy Custodian of the Astan Quds Razavi enunciated.
“Today's society, in order to achieve prosperity and freedom and find a way around the problems, has no alternative but to seek refuge to the knowledge of Infallible Imams (A.S.), and the laws of these knowledge are laid down by the creator of humanity who is aware of all our needs, and through the Prophets and the Imams are handed to humans” he reiterated.
Bakhtiari, then, pointing to the emigration of Imam Reza (A.S.) from Medina to Tus, stated, “This migration, although compulsorily, became the source of a great transformation in the Islamic society.”
“We received more than 25 books from Imam Reza (A.S.), one of the most important of which is the Oyūn al-Akhbār al-Reza (A.S.). This book unravel the needs and many problems in our society today” he commented.
“The existence of man consists of two parts of the soul and body; however, unfortunately as much as we worked on the body, the spirit has not been given enough attention, whereas what guarantees the virtuous life in the Islamic community is spirituality and what the learned of the Prophet’s household (S.A.W.) and other Infallible Imams (A.S.) did, was to prepare the spiritual food according to the human spiritual needs” Deputy Custodian of the Astan Quds Razavi said, referring to a tradition from Imam Ali (A.S.).
“There is a common theory among all schools of thought, and that is society needs law to advance and a human society without law cannot achieve civilization and progress” he remarked.
“A law can guarantee the health of the community, which is set by the creator of the human being and it should also be able to create a power within human, so that he can control his egoistic desires.” said Bakhtiari, in response to the question of “Which law could provide the ground for the growth, life and well-being of the human society.”
