Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi, in the Second International Award of Lady Goharshad, which was held in the Quds Hall of Razavi Holy Shrine, stating that the Western view of women is one of the major issues of Islamic thought with Western culture noted, “Many Western countries that claim the human and women rights in the world, are themselves the greatest violators of women's rights.”
Board Member of the Assembly of Experts, introduced the Goharshad International Award, a symbol for charity and said, “This global award is a symbol for the development of the culture of charity and altruism in the light of God in the world.”
Referring to the fact that Iranian women who are involved in various social arenas can become a model for Muslim women in the world, he said, “At various levels of decision-making in the Muslim world, women's role should be taken into account in various fields.”
Member of the Supreme Council of the Khorasan Seminary, called the promotion of civilization in the name of religion and divine values with the active role of women in the world possible and stated, “The difference between the Goharshad International Award and other worldwide prizes dedicated for charitable purposes is that the festival's intention is the creation of civilization based on the supreme human and Islamic concepts in the world.”
“Islamic civilization is a one in which the divine status and dignity of the women is emphasized. The role that women can play in the creation of Islamic civilization in the cultural, economic and other fields is an indispensable role, and this role is very different from what the West poses about women” Grand Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi added.
“Islam is in conflict with the West regarding women in theoretical and practical aspects; the feminist view is debatable and today we witness the oppression that women suffer from the claimants of women's rights” he uttered, pointing to the difference in theoretical and practical viewpoint of Islam over the women with what the West claims.
“There is a lot of difference between altruism for divine contentment, with the charitable affairs that are done for gaining benefit or show-off. In Razavi culture, dignity is solely for charity that is for godly purposes and the benevolent refers to individuals who work only for the sake of God” Board Member of the Assembly of Experts expressed.
“The Goharshad International Award comes with a message, and that is in the name of religion and divine values, with the role of benevolent and cultured women we can create a transcended civilization” he remarked.
