Qasim Muslih, brigade commander, said that ISIS attempted to use the 150 displaced people – children, old man, and women – as human shields, but those people managed to escape towards the paramilitary troops.
The brigade received them inside the base immediately and offered them everything they needed, such as food, water, and medical assistance.
Muslih also said, “Some siblings of some displaced people remained in their town where they could not escape due to the control of ISIS over the town. The brigade directly went into the town, rescued the siblings, and brought them to their families.”
He added further that the brigade is now working on getting the displaced families of Mosul more food, water, medical assistance, and other humanitarian aids.
