Astan Quds Razavi’s printing and publications institute has attended International Qur’an and Etrat Exhibition, concurrent with holy month of Ramadan. The institute has offered over forty kinds of Qur’an with different paper, translation, gilding, and binding. It has also brought fifteen types of various kinds of Mafatih, supplications, Nahj al-Ballaqah, and other religious books in different sizes and types.
A Qur’an written by Baysunqur Mirza, a Timurid prince, is one of the most exquisite Qur’ans in Mashhad’s 12th International Qur’an and Etrat Exhibition. This Qur’an is the biggest exquisite Qur’an in world 140 pages of which is now kept at Astan Quds Razavi’s treasury. This exquisite book is one of the masterpieces of Timurid era and it is, according to many researchers, attributed to Baysunqur Mirza who was a Timurid prince.
In terms of page and cover size, handwriting, type of ink, paper, and style of writing, this book is considered as a very unique sample in the area of Qur’an writing. Precious papers of this work which have now become torn and shattered are all maintained in various museums, cultural centers, and private collections”.
Most papers of this exquisite Qur’an are kept in Astan Quds Razavi’s library and museum and Malek national library and museum. At the time being, most parts of this holy book are kept in Astan Quds Razavi’s treasury and the rest of its papers are kept in some other world museums.
It is worth mentioning that Mashhad’s 12th International Qur’an and Etrat Exhibition will be open at Astan Quds Razavi’s center of exhibitions and conferences since 4th to 10th of June. The exhibition is located in floor -1 of the Razavi Holy Shrine’s Bab al-Javad.
