Ayatollah Kazeruni: Visiting the Infallibles’ (A.S.) Mausoleums, a Means of God’s Approximation

Pointing to the importance of the belief in monotheism and godliness in Islam, Ayatollah Kazeruni said, “Visiting the mausoleums of the Infallibles (A.S.) should serve as a means of proximity to God.”

In the religious-propagative lecture series of the Razavi Holy Shrine held at Imam Khomeini (R.A.) portico on the fourth day of Ramadan, Ayatollah Kazeruni remarked, “Theism is one of main principles of Islam, and one who has faith to this principle will never assume any partner to God.”
Reproaching those who perform pilgrimage at the time of Azan and prayer, he said, “The monotheist does not consider anything greater and weightier than God even visiting the holy shrines of the Infallibles (A.S.).”
“The philosophy of pilgrimage is proximity to God and ignoring the on-time prayer for doing pilgrimage means misunderstanding the sense of pilgrimage”, lecturer of the Holy Shrine added.
“The monotheist does not put anything or anyone beside God even the most magnificent ones such as the Infallibles (A.S.) and since he regards such a position for God, he will see obedience from Him as the most exalted act and will be bound to performing prayers on–time even during pilgrimage”, he continued.
Addressing the pilgrims of the Razavi Holy Shrine who were ready to perform the noon congregational prayer, Ayatollah Kazeruni said, “Your preparation for performing the on-time prayer while on pilgrimage means that you know the meaning of pilgrimage well.”
“Going on pilgrimage of Imam Reza (A.S.) and other Infallible Imams (A.S.) is a great virtue but more important is performing the on-time prayer as God has ordered”, he reiterated.
Ayatollah Kazeruni described the prayer (Salat) as the pillar and the base of tent of faithfulness and asserted, “One who is accustomed to performing prayer in fact gains the consent of God and Imam Reza (A.S.) and will prosper as proximity to God is feasible by prayer.”
“We all are inclined by nature to mundane belongings like wealth, spouse, children, etc., but the love to such things should be limited and used as a means of proximity to God”, he noted.
“The wealth is the cause of human bothering as far as it is viewed as a goal in life but it will fill the life with serenity and tranquility when used as a means of proximity to God; one who helps the orphans and the poor with his money, for example, lives in complete serenity”, Ayatollah Kazeruni said.
