Quran Reading at Abdul Azim Hassani (AS) Shrine in Ramadan

Every day during the holy month of Ramadan, one of the 30 Juzes (parts) of the Quran is read at the holy shrine of Hazrat Abdul Azim Hassani (AS) in Rey, south of the Iranian capital of Tehran.

Abbas Salimi, the cultural deputy of the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abdul Azim Hassani (AS) shrine, said the verses of one Juz of the Quran are recited in Tarteel every day after Noon and Asr prayers.

Prominent Iranian Quran reciters have been invited for Tarteel recitation of the verses, he noted.

Salimi added that a number of interpretational points about the Juz being recited are also explained by Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammadi Reyshahri, the custodian of the holy shrine.

According to the official, the recitations and other Quranic programs at the mausoleum are telecast live by the IRIB 5 channel.

The programs include speeches delivered by religious scholars and cultural-Quranic contests, he went on to say.

Abdul Azim Hassani (AS), also known as Shah Abdol Azim, was a fifth generation descendant of Imam Hassan ibn Ali (AS) and a companion of Imam Muhammad Taqi (AS).

His holy shrine in Rey is a pilgrimage site that attracts millions of pilgrims from across Iran and other parts of the world every year.
