Millions of Pilgrims Converge on Najaf on Eid al-Maba’ath

Millions of pilgrims from different cities of Iraq as well as other countries converged on the holy city of Najaf on Tuesday, which marked the Eid al-Maba’ath.


According to the website of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine, the Astan spared no efforts to serve the pilgrims visiting the holy shrine.

Iraqi government departments and security forces also did their best to provide the necessary services and ensure security for the pilgrims, it added.

Eid al-Mab’ath marks the anniversary of the day Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was chosen as God’s messenger.

It is annually celebrated by Muslims all over the word.

The holy mausoleum of Imam Ali (AS) is one of the major pilgrimage sites in Iraq that hosts millions of pilgrims throughout the year, especially on religious occasions.
