Referring to periodic cleanings and using scents in the Razavi sacred places all over the year and particularly during Nowruz, Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Reza Daneshvar Thani stated, “Cleaning and using scents is the fourth topic among the topics of revenues use in Astan Quds Razavi’s endowments. Using this topic, cleaning and aromatizing Razavi Holy Shrine is conducted”.
He asserted, “Since many years ago, some benefactors of Astan Quds Razavi have dedicated their endowments in order to be used for the purpose of cleaning and aromatizing Razavi illuminated shrine”.
“Looking at these endowments, it is understood that Ganjali Khan Zik can be considered as one of the first benefactors in this fourth topic. All the Ganj Abad aqueduct, all the Ba’liabad garden known as Abbas Abad garden, all the water sources and canals of 139 common shares of Ba’liabad aqueduct, and also all the Ganjali Khan caravansary located in Kerman’s Mahmoudi Bazaar are some endowments devoted by Ganjali Khan Zik in 1008/ 1599”, Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Thani added.
He said, “This great benefactor’s endowment letter mentions that some amount of yearly incomes earned from these endowments must be allocated for cleaning of the eighth Imam’s (A.S.) Holy Shrine and its sacred premises”.
Astan Quds Razavi’s deputy of endowments and legal affairs continued, “The latest endowment in this area belongs to late Mr. Fattolah Mirza Ghahremani in 1351/ 1932. According to this endowment, two shares and seventeen hours and ten minutes of the circuit 16 of Shadmehr’s Mohammad Abad farm have been endowed to Astan Quds Razavi”.
He noted, “Taking this benefactor’s endowment incomes into account, it becomes clear that Mr. Ghahremani has endowed, deducting remuneration of custodianship, his endowment incomes to the lightening and cleaning of the Razavi Holy Shrine”.
