Organized by the Dar-ol-Quran center of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine, the gathering kicked off in the city on Sunday and will continue for five days, according to the website of the Astan.
Karim Mansouri’s recitation was on Monday, the second day of the gathering.
Sheikh Hassan al-Mansouri, the director of the center, said 200 women Quran memorizers from different provinces of Iraq have taken part in the convention.
He said the event includes programs such as seminars, workshops and expert forums on different Quranic sciences.
Tafsir (Quran interpretation), contemplating the Quran, and memorization teaching methods ae some of the topics to be discussed at the forums, he added.
Al-Mansouri went on to say that the gathering is aimed at elevating the Quranic knowledge of the participants and providing a venue for them to share their experiences in Quranic fields.
