Kufa Mosque to Hold Quranic Calligraphy Contest

The custodianship of Masjed al-Kufa (the Kufa Mosque) in Iraq is planning to organize a competition on calligraphy of Quranic verses.


It has issued a call for Quranic calligraphy works to be submitted to the competition’s organizing committee, masjed al-kufa website reported.

The contest is part of the Muslim Ibn Aqil Creative Works Competitions slated to be held at the Kufa Mosque in June next year.

They are held with the aim of promoting Islamic arts and raising awareness about Islamic calligraphy.

The Kufa Mosque or Masjid al-Kufa located in Kufa, Iraq, is one of the earliest mosques in the world, built in the 7th century AD.
