Pakistani Shia pilgrims stopped at Taftan border on return from Iran

s many as 3000 Shia Zaireen (pilgrims) are not being allowed to leave Taftan border area for Quetta after they legally crossed Iranian Mirjaveh border into Pakistan after having the sacred visits of holy shrines of infallible Imams of Shia Islam in Iran and Iraq.


One of the stuck-up pilgrims said that for last three days, they were being forced to stay at Pakistan House where they have to pay a handsome amount in terms of rent. The pilgrims said that they were stopped for security reasons.

 

Shia pilgrims said that there was not enough food or potable drinking water hence they were suffering problems at Taftan border area. They said that exorbitant amount was being received for their stay at Pakistan House.

 

They said that they had gone to pilgrimage in Karbala on Ashura via Iran. They urged the Shia leaders and parties to play their due role to ensure that they are allowed to go to Quetta without any further delay.

 

Shia pilgrims have asked the federal government and Baluchistan chief minister to order the security officials and provincial administrative officials to arrange security convoy for them immediately so that they could reach their homes via Quetta.
