Pakistani cleric stresses: Muharram, month of peace and solidarity

Top Pakistani scholar has issued a message calling the month of Muharram as a time for peace and solidarity.


Hujjat-ul-Islam Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, Secretary General of the Council of Pakistani Muslim unity, has issued a message for the nation highlighting the respect of Imam Hussein and mourning month of Muharram among both Muslims and non-Muslims noting importance of peace and solidarity during this month.
 
The cleric in his message demanded Pakistani people to hold ordered mourning ceremonies and maintain their unity during Muharram.
 
Part of the message by Hujjat-ul-Islam Jafari reads,” Muharram is the month of peace and solidarity. This is the time which is respected by both Muslims and non-Muslims and Shia and Sunni commemorate the event in joint moves.”
 
Pakistani cleric referred to the followers of Omavid rulers who have been struggling to damage Islam and Muslims and noted,” They have pursued the same path in Pakistan especially terrorist Takfiri groups and anti-Shia groups who are hostile to the whole Pakistani nation.”
 
He also referred to the support of the Shia community for Pakistani army in the battle against militants and Takfiri groups.
 
The cleric hailed Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) as a figure who stood against tyrants of his time and struggled to safeguard the teachings of Islam.
