Pakistan govt. refrain from creating hurdles for Muharram - Shia Ulema Council

Allama Sibtain Sabzwari warned Pakistani government no obstacle would be tolerated in way of mourning, asking to refrain from creating hurdles.


Pakistan Shia Ulema Council condemned on Saturday Indian aggression, saying Indian firing on Line of Control (LoC) was backed by America.

Addressing a joint news conference along with other office bearers here at Multan Press Club, SUC Punjab president Allama Sibtain Sabzwari said that India launched fire on Pakistan to befool its public and divert world’s attention from the oppression it committed in held Kashmir.

He said that Modi’s threat to end Indus Basin Water Treaty is a mere threat, adding that the entire nation would support Pakistan army if India waged war against Pakistan.

He warned Pakistani government no obstacle would be tolerated in way of mourning, asking to refrain from creating hurdles.

He said that the Shia community is concerned on arrests of workers ahead of Muharram by Pakistani authorities.

He demanded withdrawal of fourth schedule law.

He said that a ban has been imposed on zakirs (mourning reciters) and Ulema (religious scholars) for preventing them from addressing majalis which is an oppressive act.

He said that the names of those workers, who had been acquitted by the Supreme Court were put in fourth schedule which is a contempt of court.

He demanded the apex court to take notice of the situation.
