The celebration, which has started by the recitation of verses of the Holy Quran, was attended by large number of religious and cultural figures as well as a crowd of the visitors.
The head of the organizing body; Haj Abu Yathrib has stated in his speech at the ceremony: "We are used to celebrate in this day; the first of Dhu Al-Hijjah each year the anniversary of the great marriage of the two lights (peace be upon both of them), and as we are celebrating it for the seventeenth year in row, we only can thank God for this grace, success and continuation to revive this occasion, and we call on the Iraqi families to celebrate it and to show its importance."
There was also the participation of poets and Hussayni Radood in this blessed ceremony, poets such as Reda Al-Khafaji, 'awdah Dhahi Al-Tamimi, Karrar Hussain, and the Radood who have chanted joyful religious Strophic to celebrate this occasion, were Mohamad Silawi, Ali Al-Wa'ili and Qassem Al-Mulla."
