As after the great harm our Imam Al-Jawad (Peace be upon him) has suffered in his life, the Imam (peace be upon him) has predicted that his martyrdom will be two years and half after the death of Al-Ma'moon. as he (peace be upon him) said: "The relief [Al-Faraj] will be thirty months after Al-Ma'moon", which is a clear indication of how much suffering and adversity he suffered during his life and especially in the time of his imamate from those obscurantists, and he considered his death as a relief for him (Allah's prayers be upon him).
Therefore, he (peace be upon him) was permanently sad and anguished until he got killed by the tripartite conspiracy between Mu'tassim, his nephew Ja'far son of Ma'moon and his sister Om Al-Fadl daughter of Ma'moon, which was one of the wives of Imam Al-Jawad (peace be upon him), and she (Allah's curses be on her) was the one who has fed the Imam poisoned grapes, after which he felt severe thirst, and she has prevented him from drinking water, and by being deprived from quenching his thirst he has consoled his grandfather the Master of martyrs (peace be upon him), and he was martyred then poisoned and thirsty and he was only twenty five years old.
And to commemorate this painful tragedy on the hearts of the lovers of the people of the prophecy and message's House (peace be upon them), and as with the rest of the holy sites and shrines in the commemoration of the Imams' martyrdom (peace be upon them), the grief and sorrow were manifested at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, as the black flags and banners were hung around the holy shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) and his walls were covered with black.
This comes within the special condolences' program to commemorate this occasion, including many condolences' acts, such as holding an obituary and lamentations Majlis along with religious lectures to show the status of the Imam (peace be upon him), in addition to the participation of the servants of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) in a unified condolences' procession as well as an elegiac Majliss for the staff of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine held in the hospitality hall.
