The grand mosque of Moscow hosted a mourning ceremony on Friday night (July 29) on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Sadeq (AS).

He added that similar programs will be held in mosques in some other parts of the city including Khatam-ul-Anbiya Mosque, which will host Iranian residents on Friday night.

The martyrdom of the sixth infallible Imam will also be mourned in sessions at the Shia Husseiniya (hall for public religious ceremonies) and Iman Mosque in the Russian capital.

The official added that the Islamic center supports the programs held by Shia Muslims on various occasions.

Imam Jaafar Sadeq (AS), the sixth successor to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), is known as the founder of the Jaafari School of jurisprudence and master of Islamic law. He is buried in the holy city of Medina, today’s Saudi Arabia.
