Iranian pilgrims destined for the holy city of Karbala planted saplings in border regions of the western province of Ilam, hoping to help tackle the daunting predicament of sandstorms.


The Department of rites, processions and Hussayni bodies in Iraq and in the Muslim world of the two holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), responsible for the organization of the processions and the Hussayni bodies, has issued the special schedule for the entrances of the "Latm" Hussayni condolences' processions commemorating the Arba'een of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).


In the afternoon of the seventeenth of Safar 1438 AH corresponding to the 18th of November 2016, the largest congregational prayer was held on the length of more than 45 kilometres on four axes leading to the city of Karbala.

With the approach of the peak of Ziyarat Arba'een of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has taken series of preparations for the service of the visitors, in order to perform their prayers and their Ziyarat rituals with ease despite the narrow spaces surrounding the holy shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) that did not stand as an obstacle for doing the best for this service.


The Iraqi city of Karbala, where the holy shrine of the third Shiite imam -Imam Hussein (AS)- is located, is swarming with millions of devoted Muslims, both Shiites and Sunnis, for mourning rituals marking Arbaeen, known as the largest religious gathering in the world.


A huge crowd of people in the Iranian capital of Tehran took part in a procession on Sunday morning in commemoration of Arbaeen, marking forty day after the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shiite Imam, Imam Hussein (AS).


The Iraqi Transport Minister; M. Kadhem Finjan Al-Hammami has met with the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority and the High Responsible of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine; Sayed Ahmed Al-Safi in the outer host complex of the holy shrine on the road Najaf - Karbala.


Iran’s interior minister called on more than two million pilgrims who have travelled to Iraq for Arbaeen religious rituals to return home gradually and delay their arrival to Iran preferably until days after Arbaeen –November 20- to prevent a jam at the border crossings.


Iran’s Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alawi said all of the border crossings used by Arbaeen pilgrims to cross into Iraq are safe and secure.


The Quranic stations set up on the path of pilgrims marching toward Karbala for Arbaeen will have booths for reflection on the Quran.


The imaging and montage Division of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine announced that it provides a free satellite frequency without a logo (clean) for the special broadcast of the rituals of the Ziyarat Arba'een with excellent technical specifications; to allow any satellite channel to receive the frequency according to the following data:


Within its special duties in the Ziyarat of Arba'een, the Department of Vehicles at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has proceeded the execution of its special plan for the transfer of visitors using various types of vehicles in several capacities on all the internal and external axes in order to reduce the crowding cases that happen in the transfer process.

Millions of pilgrims, including many from western countries, are marching toward the holy shrine of the third Shiite Imam, Imam Hussein (AS), in the Iraqi city of Karbala, to take part in the upcoming Arbaeen commemorations.


The number of pilgrims travelling to Iraq from Iran to perform religious rituals on Arbaeen has surpassed 1.4 million, an Iranian official announced.


The basements Imam Al-Hussayn and of Imam Al-Jawad (peace be upon both of them) are from the places that have contributed to relieve cases of overcrowding in the holy shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), especially in the Ziyarat of Arba'een, as they have contributed in unzipping and reducing the congestions of the women performing the rituals of the Ziyarat, because they were allocated only for women.


Al-Kafeel Centre for Culture and the International Media at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has produced audio guidance files for the visitors of Arba'een of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) in five languages: Arabic, English, Persian, Turkish and Urdu.


The leadership of the Iraqi joint operations has issued seven instructions for the visitors of the Arba'een of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), warned them against being dragged behind the tendentious rumors, and called them to report any person who are trying to create chaos during the Ziyarat.


Iranian prominent cleric has met with Iraqi top jurisprudent stressing that respect for sanctities of all Islamic denominations should be maintained during Arba’een ceremonies.
